Montlhéry 2017

Vintage Montlhéry Revival will be held over the weekend of May 06 & 07.

VinMog is already planning its major event for 2017.

Montlhéry is a circuit with an enormous Morgan history – it was here that Gwenda Stewart in 1929 and 1930 captured almost all World records for cyclecars. It was so easy to swap an engine on a Morgan that they simply used every category from 500cc to 1100 cc to take the record for that engine size. In 1930 she covered 5 km at an average speed of 100.64 mph ; the first time a 750 cc car had exceeded the magic ‘ton’. Also, with co-driver S C H Davis, she averaged 72.55 mph for twelve hours (including pit stops).

At the revival in 2015 there were some early Morgans at the top of the banking – and that requires similar speeds!

For an idea of just how fantastic this event is look at the Vintage web-site. If you look at the lower left side of the page you will find links to a number of videos from earlier Revivals.

The VinMog trip will be based at a nearby 3*** hotel and include three nights accommodation with evening meals – the Saturday meal being a gala event, followed by dancing until 02h00 (for those with stamina!).

As the hotel is close to some major tourist attractions, including Versailles and Fontainebleau, and the centre of Paris is just one hour away [ by rail, and a taxi to the nearby station ], many of our members in the past have chosen to book an extended stay – which we are happy to arrange for them.

For members based in France the price, for TWO people in one car and sharing one hotel room is €650. For members based in the UK our offer includes a five day Dover Calais ferry crossing at a price, payable to our UK bank account, of £670. We can also arrange some alternative ferry routes and/or durations, together with extended stays for extra sightseeing.

If you are interested, please see both our Event Booking Conditions and our Terms and Conditions

We are now collecting names of those who would like to come with us. This will help us decide how many hotel rooms to reserve – click here to register your interest.
